Description
Our client requires an experienced inside sales proposal engineer for their London office. They are a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pipes and piping systems to the oil, gas, power and civil engineering sectors and their continued growth needs additional people to support this expansion and maintain excellent customer service levels.
Typically their clients have a strong engineering and contracting bias. Ideally therefore you will have qualified in a mechanical, civil or environmental science type of discipline and have gained experience in assessing customer requirements in these areas and subsequently formulating formal large value proposals. The office has a multi country responsibility and you will relish operating in an international and competitive bid environment and having responsibility for helping to win contracts and supporting the sales team in their already successful efforts.
You will need to be able to obtain, through personal and company training, an excellent understanding of the technical requirements of the customers’ operational needs and the products themselves. Apart from formulating bids and proposals you will also answer customer technical queries and provide advice regarding applications and problems.
In this role you will you will report to the Regional Sales Manager who also supports activities in a number of other countries, and occasional travel by the Internal Sales Engineer may also be required. Consequently there is a need to be able to communicate effectively in various environments, and be able to interact with senior internal and external executives.
Direct experience of formulating proposals and bids for engineered products and systems in key industries such as oil, gas, power, contracting, and civil engineering would be useful, particularly if this has involved piping systems. However allied fields may well also be acceptable provided you can demonstrate success and an ability to be an important independent operator in a small professional team.
