Terms and Conditions

Fees and Charges - Executive Recruitment
Fees for advertised selection are 25% of first year remuneration for the position subject to a minimum fee of £5,500. The fees are payable in three stages 1/3 on authorisation, 1/3 on presentation of a satisfactory shortlist, and 1/3 contingent upon written acceptance of the appointment by the successful candidate. The fees will be based initially on an estimate of the remuneration. If the remuneration offered to the candidate engaged is higher than this figure, our final invoice will be adjusted accordingly. The provision of a company car is deemed to be equivalent to £5000 of salary. In addition, clients are charged advertising costs (agreed in advance of the advertisement being placed in the media) and expenses, which are kept to a necessary minimum and include candidates' and consultants' travelling expenses, any courier charges and international telephone costs. Should a further candidate be appointed from the field of candidates for a specific advertised assignment, a fee of 18% of first year remuneration will be charged.

Our normal fees for search assignments are 331/3% of first year remuneration for the position subject to a minimum fee of £12,000. The fees are payable in three equal instalments the first on authorisation, the second one month thereafter, and the third contingent upon written acceptance of the appointment. The fees will be based initially on an estimate of the remuneration. If the remuneration offered to the candidate engaged is higher than this figure, our final invoice will be adjusted accordingly. In addition, clients are charged expenses. Expenses are kept to a necessary minimum and include candidates' and consultants' travelling expenses, any courier charges and international telephone and facsimile charges.

Should a further appointment be made from the field of candidates for a specific search assignment, a fee of 22% of first year remuneration will be charged. For the avoidance of doubt the appointment or use by the Client of a candidate introduced by the Company whether for a definite or indefinite period (including re-introduction by or use through another agent), or the introducing of such candidate to other employers with a resulting appointment, renders the Client liable to the payment of the final stage fee to the Company provided that the appointment or use takes place within a period of twelve months from the introduction of the candidate to the Client by the Company.

Fees for combined advertising and search assignments will be quoted for a specific assignment, as these will depend on the likely amount of search activity involved. The phasing of the fees, and charging of advertising costs and expenses will be similar to an advertised selection assignment. Fees for psychometric testing and assessment of candidates will be charged on a per capita basis depending on the type and quantity of tests used. These will be agreed with the client in advance. Fees for consultancy work which are outside the work involved in a recruitment assignment (eg. pre assignment organisational development work) will be quoted for and charged on a per diem or fixed rate basis. They will be invoiced on completion of the assignment if less than 2 weeks' duration, or on a 2 weekly basis. In addition, clients are charged expenses. Expenses are kept to a necessary minimum and include candidates' and consultants' travelling expenses, any courier charges and international telephone and facsimile charges.

Qualification and Reference Checks
Unless stated to the contrary in the proposal, the information contained in the written assessments of shortlist candidates will be based on the structured interview conducted by Regent Consulting, and therefore candidates' backgrounds will not have been verified. Regent Consulting are happy to take up references and/or verify qualifications (degree and professional qualifications) on shortlist candidates if requested, but do not do so as a matter of course.

Operating Terms
All invoices associated with fees, advertising costs and expenses, to which VAT at the prevailing rate will have been added, are payable within 30 days of invoice date. Fees are not refundable, but, in the unlikely event that a candidate appointed by Regent Consulting should leave the employ of the client within six months after their start date (for reasons other than a significant change of job responsibilities, location or redundancy), then Regent Consulting will repeat the assignment for no further fee, provided that all invoices relating to the assignment have been paid within the prescribed timescale. Additional advertising costs, research costs, or expenses may be payable.

In the case of an assignment being cancelled by the client at any time after authorisation to proceed, there will be a cancellation charge of the next fee stage payment. Invoices previously submitted and any costs and expenses incurred to the date of cancellation will also be payable. Regent Consulting undertakes assignments with the understanding that the client has not instructed any other third party to conduct the assignment. Regent Consulting undertakes assignments with the understanding that any internal candidate or external candidate from other sources is brought to their attention and included in their handling of the assignment. The legislation governing these terms is The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 under which the company operates as an employment agency.
