Description
Our client is a multinational engineering & environmental consulting practice and leader in provision of acoustic consultancy services. They have specialists in architectural and room acoustics; noise and vibration control of mechanical services; and environmental noise assessment and mitigation. With this extensive capability the firm is able to address the planning, design and construction stages of any environmentally sensitive project.
The Role
The objectives of the Associate Director are both technical and commercial. As a technical consultant, the post holder will be involved in project management and design. In addition they will also responsible for assisting with more junior staff development, winning projects and further developing the group's profile within the industry. The role will require management of a prestigious architectural acoustics projects in the UK and occasionally overseas, developing business and increasing the profile of the Acoustics practice both within the group and externally.
This is a high profile role within the company working on key flagship projects. As such it is a position from which the post-holder will be noticed. In a position such as this, being successful opens up future career prospects within the firm.
The Person
You will hold a bachelors degree in physics, acoustics or engineering and preferably a masters, PhD or post graduate qualification (ideally in acoustics) with membership of the IOA.
You will be an experienced acoustician with extensive commercial experience gained in either a multidisciplinary consulting practice or a specialist acoustic consultancy with extensive knowledge of architectural acoustics and building services noise, technical & commercial report writing and a proven track record in delivery of technical projects.
Confidence to deal with clients from contracting, commercial and public sector backgrounds is vital with expertise in business development, marketing and strategic business planning.
In addition, it is expected that the successful candidate will have experience of managing, mentoring and training staff with the ability to operate with full P&L responsibility.
