Galp Energia has a number of interests in oil and gas assets in Angola from exploratory to mature production phases. The General Manager will be a highly experienced E&P professional who is at ease in different international cultures in the field and in leading an operation. The GM will be based in Luanda, with a small team and will report to the E&P General Manager in Lisbon. The GM’s key responsibilities will be to:
- Represent the company’s interests with partners and with local and national Angolan authorities.
- Lead, motivate and develop the Galp team in Angola.
- Drive and develop the effective and efficient carrying out of all E&P activities in Angola.
- Report regularly, reliably and effectively to the E&P General Manager in Lisbon.
Essential
- Degree in petroleum engineering, geology/geophysics or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas business.
- Enjoyment of and preparation for living and working overseas in a different culture in sometimes difficult conditions.
- Attracted by an international, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong analytical and communications skills.
- Outstanding motivational leadership skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Essential
- Experience in a similar role.
- Good level of spoken Portuguese and also French.
The remuneration package will be negotiable to attract the best candidate and will include a motivational performance based variable element. There will be a substantial expatriate package including both local and home salaries, housing, car, driver, domestic staff, security, very full health insurance and provision, schooling for children, several home trips per year and so on.
