Galp Energia manages a diversified portfolio of global E&P assets, with exciting new finds growing its business significantly. As a result the company needs to expand its E&P team at all levels. In particular, there is an urgent need for a Senior Geoscientist to lead a small but highly motivated Geology Team in the Exploration Department in Lisbon Head Office. This person will report to the Exploration Manager and the main

responsibilities will be to:

• Lead the Geology Team in the Exploration Department.
• Lead projects in all exploration stages: new ventures, lead identification, exploration, basin appraisal and preparation for development of prospects.
• Liaise closely with other areas and departments in E&P and outside.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate progress and findings in a timely and clear manner.
• Take part in data rooms

Essential

• Postgraduate degree, preferably at MSc or PhD level, in geology.
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience in different basins and petroleum systems.
• Excellent analytical and communications skills.
• A team player with an open-minded, collaborative approach.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Complete familiarity with the most commonly used oil industry IT platforms and applications.

Desirable

• Experience in a similar role.
• Worldwide exploration experience would be a special advantage.
• Good level of spoken Portuguese.

The remuneration package will be negotiable to attract the best candidate and will include a motivational performance based variable element.
