Description
Our client is a substantial international organisation. Whilst strategic importance should not be ignored this is a role where a hands on approach is essential.
Primary objectives will include:
- Establish a strategic procurement strategy.
- Manage a purchasing process aimed at creating a 'centre-led' network for the purchase of goods and services by the different functions and business units.
- Ensure that goods and services are acquired at best commercial conditions, in accordance with good purchasing practices, without compromising the delivery schedule, the quality or the user requirements.
- Act as a centre of expertise in purchasing, which can serve as a model and reference for other purchasing functions within the group.
- Make a bottom line contribution via better prices from fewer suppliers in a more refined supply chain, which encourages a partnership approach with suppliers.
- Successfully manage and motivate a substantial team.
The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre, with at least ten year's experience in purchasing. You must have managed a team and have strong influencing skills. A CIPS qualification is preferred but not essential.
