The role
Our client is a successful growing practice and their audit business is run as a limited company of which the successful candidate will become a Director.
Currently audit fees are a little over 6% of the Group's turnover - the 3 year goal is to increase this to at least 15%. There is a wealth of new business opportunity as identified new business should increase the audit revenue to at least 9% of group turnover within the current financial year. The focus needs to be in continuing the strategic process of selling and marketing skills and expertise to new clients, in evaluating new products that can be developed and sold into existing but more vitally new clients, in leading the growing audit team and maintaining strong audit and quality compliance.
The business has the ability to continue last year's £130K of new business wins by structured and thought-through growth. £85K of group pipeline prospects is already identified and the business is working to win this business (which includes at least 4 new audits). USPs are well received, as is the style and pro-active nature of the business model and personalities.
This role carries the key responsibility to deliver audit revenue within a profit orientated organisation but also encompasses new sales growth, marketing, team and new business development, interaction with overseas parents of UK subsidiaries and one-off projects. There is the opportunity to attend conferences of the international networking association (IAPA).
The role would suit a person with a desire and ability to give structure and focus in this vital service area. This is planned to be a full-time role though it could be restructured to allow for summer and school holiday time away, though recognising workload is dictated by clients. Currently 85% of the audit year ends are within the first six months.

The Person
The background of the successful candidate is not prescriptive but he/she will possess the following attributes:
- Be ACCA or ACA practice qualified;
- Hold a current UK Practicing Certificate or be able to achieve one within 3 months;
- Be knowledgeable, skilled and able to act with authority on audit related matters;
- Be able to expand the audit business through fee growth, client interaction, personality and personal development;
