Description
This organisation is ranked in the top three global energy groups with operations spanning a wide range of areas. These include: Exploration and Production, Marketing and Refining, Chemicals and Alternative Energy. The Alternative Energy division is a key expanding area for the group.
The role of Global Communications Manager within Alternative Energy is central to ensuring the focus, accuracy and clarity of information being disseminated to all external parties, predominantly with respect to bio-fuels. The post-holder will work closely with the key senior managers to both coordinate the gathering and interpretation of information, and also to provide counsel with respect to communications to internal and external stakeholders.
You will also be the central axis for all external stake-holder interfacing with respect to complex technical information, strategy deployment, and operational updates. In this respect, the role is central to influencing external debate and policy decision-making around bio-fuels and other alternate energy areas and is a senior position within the Alternative Energy division.
The successful applicant will have a strong track record of dealing with and influencing Governments/ Media / NGO's/ Industry Groups in a technical arena, ideally (although not essentially) within the field of bio-fuels or alternative energy. An ability to understand complex technical information and break this down for dissemination and communication to a variety of target audiences is also essential.
This is not a conventional Marketing Communications, Branding or PR role, and should be seen as a substantive management position providing guidance, support and participation to ensure that the company's viewpoints are effectively communicated to the right decision makers at the right time.
